"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." •

The rainbow is a reflection of pure white light. Throughout the Bible, light and darkness symbolize the contrast between right and wrong, good and evil, truth and error. John 3:19-20 The Bible is God's revelation of Himself to us, revealing his true colors. In a culture that indoctrinates with moral relativism, this truth is difficult to grasp—and is often squelched, claiming that 'truth cannot be known'. Yet we know from life experiences that truth can be known.

Suppose your friend is standing on a railroad track with his back to an oncoming train. No matter how much you try to persuade him to run, he insists that you're delusional and there's nothing to worry about. The impending danger is perfectly clear to you, but your friend is blind to the truth. People can be sincere, yet sincerely wrong—with devastating consequences.

Every human was created with a God conscienceness in their soul. It causes them to seek absolute truth. That truth is revealed to each and every person—in nature, in the Bible and in the person of Jesus. 1John 1:5-8 There's really no excuse to say, "Well, I just didn't know". Romans 1:20

Jesus had protected a woman who committed adultery from being stoned to death—then graciously forgave her and told her to 'sin no more'. John 8:1-11 After Jesus had shed the light of truth into this woman's heart, He enlightened the crowd by saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

Before we can walk in Jesus' light, we need to acknowledge that our lives are full of darkness 1John 1:6-8 and that His light reveals absolute Truth. John 3:20-21 The Bible is the source of that Truth and gives us enough light to illuminate each step we take in life. Psalm 119:105 Those who are enlightened with the truth of the Gospel are a reflection of Jesus' pure light. Matthew 5:14-16 And because of God's compassion and love for every human, every tribe, every nation, He wants us to expose His light to the rest of the world. Matthew 28:18-20 Acts 1:7-8

This might be the beginning of seeing God in a whole new light.

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you...
