Actually, it's Hebrew.

Shekinah is the Hebrew word that represents the “light of the glory of God”. You won't find this word in the Bible, but it's derived from a word that means "that which dwells within”. A Rabbi reading the Torah (the Old Testament) would coin this word to describe God’s radiance and presence in the cloud by day and the fire by night in the book of Exodus. Exodus 13:21-22 This Shekinah fire provided the Israelites warmth at night, while the Shekinah cloud kept them cool in the hot desert. The Israelites were instructed as a nation to follow God's directions and camp or pull up stakes as the cloud moved out or hovered in one place. Exodus 40:36-38 Whenever Moses was in God's presence, he returned with his face so radiant that the people feared him. Exodus 34:29-31

This Shekinah glory indwelled the Tabernacle, Exodus 40:34-35 and again when Solomon dedicated the Temple. 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 In the Old Testament, the Shekinah glory was last seen by Ezekiel hovering over Jerusalem and finally leaving the city. Ezekiel 1:27-28

This glory is revealed again when Jesus Christ—perfect God and perfect man—became flesh and made his dwelling among us, "...and we saw His glory as the only begotten son that came from the Father." During the catastraphies to come that are recorded in the book of Revelation, the Temple of God continues to be filled with His glory and power. Revelation 4:5 Revelation 15:8 In the aftermath of this destruction of all evil, Jesus declares, "I am making everything new!" Revelation 21:5 No longer will believers see God's glory confined to a temple made of hands, or of flesh—but the Trinity itself will be the temple Revelation 21:22-23 and the nations will be forever illuminated by the Shekinah glory.
